Tiny Tower – I don’t know how long I’ll last playing this game but it’s definitely adorably fun right now. Create your own tower with each level being either an apartment or a business for your bitizens to occupy. There are different types of businesses and each bitizen will have a score indicating how well they do at each business. They also have dream jobs that provide a bonus when the bitizens work them. It’s the little people that get me – the fact that you can change what they look like or what color the rooms are, and some of the things they “say” on the social media wall are a riot. Actually stocking your stores and building levels is lame. I wish NimbleBit would embrace the bitizen aspect and create a game that revolves more around that. I hate schlepping people up the damn elevator, you guys.
Pokopang – This is a Line game, the creators of the Line Phone/Text App. Phone calls and texts can be sent on wi-fi, so most people use this in conjunction with gaming (Marvel: War of Heroes, specifically). Line also creates fun games which connect with your Line account and all your friends. Pokopang is a simple “connect the same color items” type of game which translate to battling semi-cute monsters. This is similar to Line’s Zookeeper game, which I actually think I prefer. It ends up being extremely repetitive.
Wits & Wagers – Board game turned app, I just found this a day or so ago. I appreciate any multi-player game app that doesn’t make me have to sit around and wait for the other player to finally take their damn turn. It’s happening NOW. You & 3 other players are asked to give a numerical answer to a trivia question. The person closest to the correct answer without going over, wins. Well, you get a point. The twist here is you also get a big bet and a small bet, which you can apply to any given answer. It doesn’t even have to be your own answer. So points are also applied this way and after 6 rounds you’ll reach a final question where you can bet with all the points you’ve earned so far. It’s fun, risky, and intelligent.
Pixel People – I had a huge and amazing city on my old phone and was kind of reluctant to start this over again on my new phone. A major update was just released today though, so I’ll be posting an update that includes those new features soon.
BONUS PLAY: PC/MAC
Civilization V: Brave New World – I’d been playing the Gods & Kings expansion, which introduced religion aspects to the game, and that was pretty awesome so I pre-ordered the next expansion, Brave New World. It released on July 9th of this year and it not only introduced trading & tourism to the game, but enhanced culture altogether, which is a favorite game style of mine. If you’ve played Civ games before, definitely give this one a shot since it changes and enhances so many aspects of the game.
Minecraft – My desire to play Minecraft comes and goes…probably because no one I know plays. I NEED MINECRAFT FRIENDS.
